FAQ's

Though I tried to address most of these in the previous pages, I will go over everything I can here as simply as possible. If there is anything that I am missing here, feel free to email me through the contact page.

01

Do I have to pay all at once?

-No

A non-refundable deposit of 40% is required to hold your commission spot and current pricing. After the down payment, at least $100 per month is required, though that can be split up into multiple payments per month. I will not ship out until all payments are made in full.

02

What do I need for a full suit?

Other than the design, you will need to send a DTD (unless you allow a standard pattern to be used, but the suit will not fit snugly), your shoe size and circumference of your head-to make the character head fit snugly.

03

What is a DTD?

A DTD is a duct tape dummy. This is the best way to send measurements for snug suits. Please follow the directions provided by Don't Hug Cacti

https://donthugcacti.com/dtd.php

Make sure to mail the DTD to Pawsome Furries, not Don't Hug Cacti.

How long does it take to make a suit and where do you get your fur from?

There is no exact amount of time it can take for a suit to be completed. An estimate is given at the time of purchase, but please remember that everything is handmade and does take some time. Time frame is not a guarantee of when it will be done.

The fur that is used is all faux (or fake) fur. It is made of either polyester or resin (both plastic based fabric-this fabric is extremely susceptible to flame. It is very important to keep away from flames). Real fur is never used and I won't use it even when requested, regardless of how the fur was obtained (humanly or not). The same goes for animal parts (horns, antlers, etc.)

The fur is bought at local stores or online. If you have a specific fur you would like used, please direct me to the link.

I changed my mind on what I want after placing a deposit. Now what?

If for whatever reason you have changed your design on your furr, let me know as soon as possible. As I get the materials as soon as I can after receiving deposit, I can't guarentee that it will be able to be changed. All changes are on a case by case status. If changes cannot be made, due to the nature of the change, you will NOT receive a refund of your deposit (the deposit is used to purchase the materials). However, if the change is not material related, there is a good chance the changes can be made. As stated, all are on case by case status. Any extra costs incurred due to any change, will result in a higher bill for the buyer (you will be sent a new contract that will need to be signed and returned) and as any order, the suit will not be shipped out until all payments are made.

I got a price quote from you, but I can't afford to pay right now. Can you hold the quote for me?

All written price quotes are good for 3 months from the date of the quote, even if prices are raised. After 3 months, I cannot guarentee the quoted price.

07

How do you calculate your prices?

Fur suits are based on how many hours it takes to make and how much material is needed to make it. This is priced at $10 per hour and $30 per yard of fur. Heads are priced additional at $10 per yard of foam needed. If additional materials are needed after the quote, the buyer is responsible for this additional cost. Any third party costs such as resin or silicone items purchased from another maker are billed at cost, i.e. price of item plus shipping to me.

08

I noticed you are from the United States. I am from a different country. Is this a problem?

No. Though all prices are in US Dollars, I would be happy to give you a quote in your currency (though payment must be made in US currency or converted before reaching me). I also ship all over the world. Keep in mind that shipping rates can get pricy and, unless stated, buyer always pays shipping, but I will ship as cheap as possible unless the buyer requests faster shipping.

I really like what you do and would love to get a suit, artwork, etc really soon, but I don't have enough money. Is there anything you can do to help me out?

I always have different types of discounts for different types of orders. Feel free to ask about any of these. On occasion, I will except trades as a part of the payment (I will almost never except trades on a full order as a lot of the payment is for materials). If my queue is not full, I may consider a full trade on suit pieces. What this means is, if you have a suit or suit pieces I could make a partial or piece for trade. These types of trades are strictly limited to material available on hand. Under no circumstances will I pay for materials for a trade. Do you do a type of art or do you have something that you want to get rid of? Let me know. The worst I can say is "No". And remember, I always take payments.

How do you do trades?

When I accept an item for trade, the item I am trading will be made first (if I am making the item). Once the item is completed, the person trading must send off their half of the trade with tracking. When I receive the tracking number, I will send my half of the trade with tracking. If no tracking number is provided, I will send my half when I receive the traded item.

If I am not making the item, then the traded item must be sent with tracking before I send my half.

There are no exceptions to this. I am happy to send additional pics and video proving ownership and condition, but I will not send my half of the trade first. Even if we have traded before.

When

I ordered a suit from another maker. I am very unhappy with it, but don't want to spend another $$$$$ for a new one. Is there anything you can do?

I offer refurbishments at well below the cost of a new suit. For a suit head there is a flat rate of $300 regardless of what needs to be done. The $300 rate includes return shipping within the US, but the buyer must pay to ship head to me in addition to the $300. *I must be able to use at least 50% of the current head for this rate.* I will never disclose the previous maker on my site, though before and after pictures will be taken. Other suit parts are priced on a case by case basis.

11

I am under the age of 18, but I still want a suit. Can I still order one?

Unfortunately, I cannot sell to minors. However, I can sell to a legal parent or guardian on the behalf of the minor. The legal parent or guardian will have to fill out a form found here and all payments must come from the parent or guardian's PayPal or bank account.

12

I really LOVE *Insert maker or style here*. Can you make me a suit/piece of art like theirs since you're cheaper?

I have my own style for art and suit making. If you like my style, I'm happy to bring your character to life. However, I cannot, will not and do not copy another artist's work. Please do not ask this question at all to any artist. You are basically asking an artist to plagiarize another artist's work. If you love said artist, save up to get it from them.

13

I've already made a deposit and some payments but something's come up and I can't pay any more. Can I get my money back?

The initial deposit of 40% is non-refundable. No exceptions. The rest of the payments will be refunded minus 20% provided the suit can be sold as a premade to another buyer. Please see terms and conditions for full details. Please remember that artists and suit makers are not banks to hold your money for when you need it.
